Dear Friends,

December marked the end of my first year serving on the Placentia City Council and I am proud to report we saw a productive and progressive year.

-The city council adopted the city’s vision and mission statement:

“The City Council is committed to keeping Placentia a pleasant place by providing a safe family atmosphere, superior public services and policies that promote the highest standards of community life.”

-We have worked diligently to resolve the Cal-Trans audit and look forward to a favorable outcome in the near future.

-The city recorded a reduction in DUI accidents due in part to our great police department and police officers.

-I was honored to be chosen to represent the city of Placentia on the Orange County Fire Authority’s Board of Directors for 2010.

As we move into the 2010 calendar year we are facing a number of continuing challenges in balancing the budget. These challenges have become a concern to the council because of lower than expected revenues in sales tax, property tax and a number of other funding sources. The city council will be having a study session on the current status of our budget on January 5th, 2010 at 5:30 PM and I would like to personally invite you to join the roundtable discussion. We are looking for ideas to be more efficient in providing services to the public while maintaing the quality of service that our citizens deserve.

If you are unable to attend the study session or have any questions before please feel free to contact me at any time.

“I have pride in our past, faith in our future, and a vision of a more stable and secure community.”
